What are the responsibilities and job description for the Iron Worker Foreman position at Conco, Inc.?
Conco Construction, a self-performing regional leader in the commercial construction industry is seeking an Iron Worker Foreman. This position will lead a crew of 5-6 individuals in various steel structure and metal building projects. A successful candidate will be driven, collaborative, and an excellent communicator. The right candidate will feel at home in Conco’s fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a crew of 5-6 iron workers
- Competent in all areas of steel erecting and structural steel processes
- Enforce safety expectations with all Conco employees at all times
- Provide coaching and feedback to crew on performance & conduct
- Work with Craft & Jobsite Superintendent to establish production goals and quality standards
- Lead crews and hold them accountable to meet production & quality goals on a weekly basis
- Work with Craft Superintendent & Jobsite Superintendent to manage weekly labor variances
- Expected to train and develop all crew members
Qualifications:
- 2 years in a construction management role
- 5 years in experience in metal erecting
- Experience with reading blue prints, ordering materials, and managing inspections
- Ability to work at ease at elevated heights
Other considerations:
- All offers of employment are conditioned by successfully passing a background check, drug screen and physical
- Wages are based on experience and performance
- Must be able to work outside the normal operating hours (7am-4pm, winter/fall 7am-3:30pm, spring/summer)
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds or greater occasionally and 25-50 pounds frequently
- Must be able to work outdoors and stand for majority of the day
- Must be able to perform tasks while walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling
