Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver exceptional, evidence-based patient care. PTAs play a critical role in helping patients recover from injury, improve mobility, reduce pain, and achieve their personal goals while creating an outstanding patient experience every visit.

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized treatment interventions as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Progress therapeutic exercise programs based on established plans of care.
• Provide manual therapy and other skilled interventions within the PTA scope of practice.
• Educate patients on exercises, recovery expectations, and healthy movement strategies.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate clinical observations to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Document treatments accurately and complete documentation within required timeframes.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists, Clinic Directors, Front Desk Ambassadors, and Aides to ensure seamless patient care.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment.
• Uphold all state practice acts, company policies, and ethical standards.
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture focused on patient success and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Required

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current Massachusetts PTA license (or eligible for licensure).
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to exceptional customer service and patient-centered care.

Preferred

• Outpatient orthopedic experience.
• Manual therapy experience.
• Growth mindset with a passion for lifelong learning.
• Experience using electronic medical records.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and assist patients throughout the day.
• Lift, move, or assist patients and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Maintain the physical stamina necessary for an active outpatient clinical environment.
