We are searching for a full time foster care caseworker/recruiter to join our team in helping to improve the lives of others. In this rewarding career you will be reporting to the program supervisor while serving as the liaison between foster families, legal parents, county agencies, the court system and other stakeholders to ensure the safety, permanency and well-being of all clients placed in CONCERN foster homes. There will be reimbursable travel required with this position.
What Do I Need?
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field (Required)
Two years of related experience and/or training (Preferred)
Other Requirements
- You will maintain a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation
- You will maintain all required clearances
- You will be able to successfully use typical office equipment
- You will demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
What Will I Do?
- You will help clients by assessing needs, assisting in home placements, listening to concerns, evoking motivation to change, solving problems and relaying information.
- You will provide on-call and office case management/support services to children and foster families for routine and crisis situations.
- You will perform assessment of safety checks and home visits with children placed in CONCERN foster homes on a regular basis and participate in all service delivery team meetings regarding children and families.
- You will handle foster parent inquiry calls and referrals and assist in placing children in appropriate foster homes.
- You will develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all team members including but not limited to foster parents, county workers, supervisors, school personnel, medical providers, therapists, and legal parents/guardians.
- You will transport clients and supervise visists with biological/legal family.
- You will complete all required paperwork on assignments and visits for each client/family by designated due dates and documents all information using various electronic information systems.
- You will take part in court hearings and medical/behavioral health appointments and facilitate foster family training.
- You will meet with the social services supervisor on a regular basis and participate in required and suggested staff training.
- You will attend community and foster care recruitment events and solicit, process and distribute donations.
- You will complete all documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- You will create and implement aggressive marketing plans to boost the selection of Resource Family applicants.
- You will represent CONCERN at events to recruit Resource Families, hold informational meetings, and establish ongoing community contacts with schools, faith-based organizations, and other resources as deemed appropriate.
- You will recruit and evaluate prospective families who can be certified and approved for all placement programs.
- You will follow up with prospects throughout the certification process.
- You will review and complete all paperwork related to the approval process with the prospect in a timely, thorough manner.
- You will establish a positive relationship and service as the point of contact for all potential families.
- You will record and maintain the statistics necessary to measure the effectiveness of the various recruitment efforts and goals.
