Position Summary: The Part-Time Supervisor plays a key leadership role in ensuring daily operations run smoothly and that every guest experiences exceptional service and product quality. This hands-on position oversees both the front and back of house, supports staff, manages inventory, and helps maintain a clean, organized, and positive environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily café operations, ensuring consistent service, quality, and guest satisfaction.
- Open and/or close the shop, handling keyholder responsibilities, cash handling, and end-of-day reporting.
- Maintain and update the POS system (Toast), including menu changes, 86’d items, and inventory updates.
- Conduct daily walkthroughs to inspect cleanliness, organization, and equipment functionality.
- Supervise and support staff during service, ensuring side work is completed and service standards are met.
- Greet guests warmly, manage flow during peak hours, and handle any issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain clean and stocked service and display areas, ensuring proper product presentation and signage.
- Accurately process cash and credit transactions, perform weekly safe audits, and assist with deposits.
- Ensure both Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, and operational.
- Train, coach, and motivate team members to uphold café standards, efficiency, and hospitality.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, inventory tracking, and communication with management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a café, bakery, or restaurant environment.
- Proven experience managing a team of 4 or more employees.
- Familiarity with POS systems (Toast preferred) and cash-handling procedures.
- Proficient with email and basic computer programs (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
- Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- A positive attitude, reliable work ethic, and passion for hospitality and teamwork.
