Responsibilities
- Safely operate roll-off trucks, including front loader, rear loader, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers, to transport waste containers to designated disposal sites
- Load and unload roll-off containers efficiently using mechanical skills and appropriate equipment
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and equipment to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Perform heavy lifting when handling large containers or equipment during loading and unloading processes
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle maintenance records
- Follow all traffic laws and safety protocols during transportation to ensure personal safety and that of others on the road
- Assist with minor mechanical troubleshooting or basic maintenance tasks as needed
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, especially with heavy-duty trucks such as front loader, rear loader, dump trucks, or flatbed trailers
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems related to heavy trucks and trailers
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with manual transmission experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to load & unload cargo safely and efficiently in various environments
- Experience operating tractor-trailers or similar large vehicles is highly desirable
- Prior experience in delivery driving or waste collection services is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding conditions
