Comtech is seeking a NC Department of Health and Human Services seeks a highly technical contract resource for NC FAST (Families Accessing Services through Technology). This position will serve as an Network Engineer to support applications hosted in the cloud (AWS/Azure) and on-Prem.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Troubleshooting cloud infrastructure issues related to networking and security.
- Create firewall rules for environments.
- Assist the Operations and cloud team as requested.
- Maintain and keep track of all technical duties related to cloud networking such as design, implementation, and support.
- Manage, monitor, troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues: utilization/throughput, slowness, and unexpected latency.

R1. | Extensive hands-on experience with Palo Alto VM Series firewall and Panorama configuration and optimization(5 Years of Experience) |
R2. | Experience with routers, routing protocols, transit gateways, load balancing, and overall cloud networking, including VPCs, subnets, routes, security(3 Years of Experience) |
R3. | Experience with security best practices and implementing security controls in a AWS cloud environment.(5 Years of Experience) |
R4. | Experience with VPN technologies to include IPsec and SSL technologies.(5 Years of Experience) |
R5 | Ability to work on large TCP/IP networks, design, implementation, and troubleshooting.(3 Years of Experience) |
R6 | Experience with name services and resolution, associated IP assignments. |
R7 | Knowledge of core network services (including DNS, DHCP, and IPAM technologies) |
R8 | Possess strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud networking infrastructure issues. |
R9 | Self-motivated with a strong team-oriented and collaborative attitude. |

H1. | Strong knowledge and understanding of cloud infrastructure components: compute, storage, network management, and monitoring (network and security) |
H2 | Knowledge of WAF as a Service (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform). |
