Job Description
We are seeking an experienced IT Superintendent – Digital Infrastructure & Cybersecurity to lead enterprise IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, network architecture, and IT/OT integration at a mining facility in Fairbanks, Alaska.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex enterprise infrastructure, securing industrial technology environments, leading technical teams, and ensuring high availability, operational resilience, and cybersecurity compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, modernization, and technology delivery.
Oversee enterprise networks, servers, storage, virtualization, telecommunications, identity services, and business-critical applications.
Manage LAN/WAN, routing and switching, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, DNS, DHCP, and secure remote access.
Drive cybersecurity initiatives, including vulnerability management, privileged access management, endpoint protection, incident response, and risk remediation.
Manage IT/OT integration and secure industrial networks involving SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, and process-control systems.
Oversee disaster recovery, backup validation, business continuity, infrastructure risk assessments, and root-cause analysis.
Lead technical teams, infrastructure projects, capital budgets, vendors, SLAs, and stakeholder communications.
Ensure infrastructure reliability, security, scalability, and compliance with industry standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
15 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, systems architecture, networking, cybersecurity, or technology operations.
Strong expertise in enterprise networking, infrastructure architecture, virtualization, storage, high availability, and monitoring.
Experience with cybersecurity architecture, identity governance, vulnerability remediation, incident response, and privileged access management.
Hands-on knowledge of IT/OT integration, industrial network security, SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, and operational technology environments.
Familiarity with NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST SP 800-82, ISO 27001, and IEC 62443.
Strong troubleshooting, risk assessment, disaster recovery, and infrastructure remediation skills.
Proven leadership in project delivery, budget management, vendor governance, and cross-functional team coordination.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in mining operations, remote facilities, industrial plants, energy facilities, or other critical operational environments.
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, or equivalent.
Experience leading enterprise technology initiatives and coordinating external service providers.
