Job Title: Manufacturing Technician / RF Technician
Location: State College, PA 16803
Duration: 12 Months
Shift:
- Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Every other Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
The Manufacturing Technician / RF Technician will support manufacturing and lab operations by performing testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and assembly of avionics and RF electronic systems. This role involves working closely with engineering teams in an ESD-controlled lab environment to ensure product quality, functionality, and compliance with specifications.
- Test, troubleshoot, and calibrate avionics and RF electronic assemblies
- Perform RF calibration and equipment tuning
- Work from schematics, drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, and test procedures
- Diagnose issues using advanced electronic test equipment and document findings
- Support manufacturing operations including rework, quality testing, and process improvements
- Construct, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment used for RF testing
- Perform mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly of components, subassemblies, and final products
- Ensure proper functionality of units under test and associated test equipment
- Identify discrepancies during testing and apply methodical troubleshooting techniques
- Support environmental testing including temperature and humidity monitoring
- Travel to other campuses as needed when equipment cannot be relocated
- Safely lift and transport items up to 30 lbs
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience
- OR
- Associate Degree or post-secondary technical education with 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience working with electronic test equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings, schematics, and BOMs
- Associate Degree in Electronics or related technical field
- Strong understanding of RF theory, analog and digital circuits
- Ability to troubleshoot RF and digital circuits to the component level
- Experience with calibration of RF circuitry and test equipment
- Hands-on experience with signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and RF equipment
- Familiarity with J-STD-001 and IPC-610 standards
- Experience working under a microscope
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- Electrical background with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives
