Job Title: Scientist, R&D (Analytical Development)
Location: Cary, IL (Hybrid)
Duration: 18-Month Contract (Potential for Extension/Conversion)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced R&D Scientist to support analytical method development activities for new product development initiatives within a highly regulated environment. This role will focus on developing, optimizing, validating, and troubleshooting analytical methods while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product innovation and commercialization efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods using a variety of analytical instrumentation.
- Perform analytical testing and characterization of materials and products.
- Utilize techniques such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, and other laboratory instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot analytical methods, instrumentation, and laboratory processes.
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and technical documentation.
- Author and revise SOPs, test methods, protocols, and technical reports.
- Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, laboratory safety standards, and internal procedures.
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and other stakeholders to support project objectives.
- Support analytical activities associated with New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related scientific discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in analytical chemistry, analytical development, or R&D laboratory environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- HPLC
- GC
- FTIR
- UV-Vis
- Other analytical instrumentation
- Proven experience developing and optimizing analytical methods.
- Experience working within a GMP-regulated environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with technical writing, SOP development, and laboratory documentation.
- Familiarity with LIMS systems.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety practices.
- Experience supporting medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related regulated industries.
Salary : $40 - $42
