Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership & Delivery: Lead engineering projects from inception to completion. Monitor progress and performance against the project plan, proactively identifying operational bottlenecks and resolving issues to prevent delays.
- Resource & Task Prioritization: Prioritize tasks and strategically assign engineering team members to optimize resource utilization and ensure project milestones are met on schedule.
- Scope & Budget Authority: Evaluate, analyze, and authorize scope, budget, or timeline changes that impact overall project deliverables and organizational objectives.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Manage relationships with external contractors, engineering service providers, and vendors to ensure deliverables meet quality standards and performance agreements.
- Evaluative Judgment & Problem-Solving: Leverage formal technical knowledge and work experience to analyze factual data, interpret complex engineering issues, and implement sound solutions.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Experience: Demonstrated professional mastery in applying technical engineering principles within a structured project management framework, built upon relevant work experience.
- Role Competencies:
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail for making critical evaluative decisions based on project data.
- Excellent cross-functional leadership, risk mitigation, and operational problem-solving capabilities.
- Industry Experience: 4 years of engineering project management experience within the medical device industry or a similarly strict, regulated environment.
- Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
