Bilingual Mandarin HR Manager
A fast-growing global consumer retail company is seeking a bilingual Mandarin-English HR Manager to support its expanding U.S. business operations. This role will act as a strategic HR partner to business leaders across retail and corporate functions while serving as a key liaison between the U.S. team and international headquarters.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting retail, consumer goods, lifestyle, or fast-paced multi-site organizations and be comfortable operating in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted HR business partner to U.S. leadership teams across retail operations and corporate functions
- Partner closely with international headquarters on organizational planning, HR initiatives, policy alignment, and workforce strategy
- Support employee relations matters including performance management, investigations, conflict resolution, corrective actions, and terminations
- Provide guidance on U.S. federal, state, and local labor law compliance
- Support rapid business growth, including retail/store expansion, organizational scaling, and workforce planning
- Partner with recruiting teams and hiring managers on talent acquisition strategies for both retail and corporate roles
- Drive performance management, employee engagement, retention, and leadership development initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, legal, and business leadership teams
- Assist with compensation planning, headcount management, and organizational design
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices to support business growth
- Support HR reporting, analytics, and people-related operational initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or HR certification preferred
- 8 years of progressive HR experience, including HRBP or HR Manager level responsibilities
- Business level fluency in both Mandarin and English required as this job requires to communicate with people in China.
- Strong experience supporting retail, consumer goods, lifestyle, fashion, beauty, or multi-site operations
- Experience partnering with overseas headquarters or global teams is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law and employee relations practices
- Experience supporting both corporate employees and field/store operations
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable balancing strategic initiatives with hands-on operational support
Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
