Software Distribution Tech

Job Summary:   The distribution tech will distribute new programs to customer base at regular intervals, work with development to release individual programs as necessary and help to develop, test, and document transmission tools.  Successful distribution techs will be detail oriented, accurate, and have a strong tenacity to solve problems.    This is a variable hour position and will typically work between 30-35 hours per week.  The position is eligible for all of our benefit programs.      

Responsibilities & Duties: 

• Manage and respond to all TIMS customer and internal requests for program updates, using internal tools to determine the appropriate program to send. 


• Test programs once transmitted and research any irregularities in customer transmissions. 


• Work with development team to release individual programs as needed. 


• Keep customer version database current including new hardware and software upgrades.  


• Assist with the successful execution of the annual users group conference.  Will attend/participate and may present and/or assist with development of presentations. 


• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education & Experience:  

• Degree in information systems, or computer science or the equivalent in related work experience. 


• Previous experience with business software preferred.   Working knowledge of Windows operating systems is also preferred. 


• Minimum two years of customer service experience, 


• Experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel)


• Experience securely accessing remote servers and navigating multi server platforms a plus. 

Travel/Working Conditions This position will typically be in office at our Billings, Montana location.  After the training period is completed, a hybrid arrangement or fully remote from within one of the states we operate may be available.  Individuals will be expected to travel to the office in Montana at least once per year.
