Senior Developer with Java/Microservices

Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Developer with Java/Microservices opening for our client in Bethesda, MD.

Location: Bethesda, MD (Hybrid – minimum 2 days onsite)
Duration: 4 months

Duties:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-level microservices and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Webflux.

• Provide strong technical leadership and hands-on development across architecture planning, coding, and solution delivery.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, ensure alignment with business objectives, and provide technical guidance.

• Work within Agile development methodologies using tools such as JIRA and Ready API.

• Integrate and optimize services across cloud environments, particularly AWS (EKS, Lambda, S3, DocumentDB).

• Support API testing and automation efforts to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.

Skills:

• Java, Spring Boot, Webflux, Microservices architecture.

• API design, development, and testing with TOSCA (must have).

• Agile development methodologies and collaboration tools (JIRA, Ready API).

• AWS cloud technologies (EKS, Lambda, S3, DocumentDB).

• Strong communication, client management, and leadership skills.

Experience:

• 10 years of hands-on experience designing and developing enterprise microservices/web services with Java.

• 10 years of API testing experience with TOSCA.

• Experience working with Hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) – Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, or similar strongly preferred.

• Experience with Kafka, MongoDB, and relational databases is desirable.

• Proven track record in architecture planning, independent development, and client-facing leadership.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
