Overview
CTG is seeking to fill an Application Developer - Microsoft Analytics opening for our client in Jersey City, NJ.
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Duration: 11 months
Duties:
Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence (BI), data warehousing, and reporting applications using Microsoft BI tools, including Power BI, Power BI Report Builder (Paginated), Power BI Embedded services, and SSRS.
Write complex queries using Power Query, DAX, R, and T-SQL to support reporting and analytics needs.
Build and optimize reports and visualizations in Power BI, ensuring usability, performance, flexibility, testability, and standardization.
Implement security features and access controls within Microsoft BI solutions.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Perform data analysis to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for process improvement.
Skills:
Strong experience with Microsoft BI stack (Power BI, SSRS, Power BI Embedded).
Advanced SQL Server programming skills and experience with T-SQL.
Proficiency in Power Query, DAX, and R for data transformation and analytics.
Knowledge of BI security implementations and best practices.
Ability to optimize dashboards for performance, scalability, and usability.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience:
Proven experience as a BI Developer or Application Developer specializing in Microsoft Analytics tools.
Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying complex reports and dashboards.
Familiarity with data analysis and SQL is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50.00 to $120.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
