Telecommunications Construction Coordinator
Location: Alexandria, VA (Approximately 50% office and 50% field-based work)
Pay Rate: $32/hr-$38/hr
The Telecommunications Construction Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and tracking telecommunications construction projects from initiation through closeout. This role manages project workflows, milestones, quality control, permitting coordination, funding requests, and stakeholder communication to ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and within budget. Projects may include Single Dwelling Unit (SDU), Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU), and underground relocation construction involving fiber and coaxial network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Lifecycle Management
- Create and manage construction jobs within project tracking systems such as JT/Polaris.
- Track and update project milestones throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Monitor project timelines and address exceptions to established SLAs.
- Coordinate job issuance to design teams and ensure timely progression through construction phases.
- Reconcile completed jobs and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between internal departments, including Construction, Permitting, and Project Management teams.
- Coordinate with municipalities, counties, VDOT, utility providers, and other external stakeholders.
- Work closely with Permit Coordinators and field personnel to ensure project milestones are completed and documented.
- Provide project status updates and reporting to management.
- Create and process funding requests and purchase orders.
- Support project estimating and budget tracking activities.
- Manage material requisitions and reconciliation.
- Review contracts, agreements, and project-related documentation.
- Assist with invoice tracking and project financial closeout.
- Perform administrative quality control reviews for construction projects.
- Verify completion of field quality control inspections.
- Review project documentation, including permits, materials, invoices, photos, and footage records.
- Ensure all required milestones are properly documented and closed.
- Validate permit closures and final invoice processing before project closeout.
- Analyze reports and provide feedback to improve project quality and performance.
- Experience in telecommunications construction, cable, fiber optic, or coaxial networks preferred.
- Experience coordinating SDU, MDU, or underground relocation projects is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and project tracking systems.
- Ability to review construction documentation and identify quality control issues.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills.
- Experience working with permitting agencies, municipalities, utilities, or government organizations preferred.
- Experience with P2 and/or Sphere is a plus.
