Job at a glance:
- This is a contract to hire position, with an initial term of 6 months, planned for conversion to FTE
- Pay rate is $50-$60/hr W2 eligible to sign up for benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401k) on day 1
- This team is largely remote, with only periodic needs to come onsite. Hub offices are located in Phoenix (Biltmore area) and Dallas. Travel is not reimbursed to the office which is closest, as candidates are expected to be local

Key responsibilities
- Application development: Design, develop, and maintain software on the IBM iSeries/AS/400 platform.
- Coding and debugging: Write, debug, and optimize programs using languages such as COBOL & JCL.
- Requirements analysis: Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.
- Testing and quality assurance: Perform unit testing and support QA and UAT sign-offs to ensure application quality.
- System maintenance: Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, and maintain and enhance existing applications to ensure stability and performance.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, business analysts, and other stakeholders to meet business needs and resolve issues.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for system design and processes.
- Programming languages: COBOL, and JCL.
- AS/400 environment: Strong understanding of the IBM iSeries/AS/400 ecosystem, including its unique tools and concepts. Understanding of OCP and Virtual server environments.
- Database and SQL: Experience with SQL for database queries, and a solid understanding of DB2 and other database concepts.
- Development tools: Familiarity with tools like LANSA iAM4.
- Problem-solving: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills are essential for collaborating with teams and stakeholders.
