CCIA seeks an experienced government relations professional to support the Association’s advocacy across its competition, online safety, digital trade, and emerging technology policy portfolios. The Vice President of Federal Affairs will report to the President & CEO.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a lead strategic advisor by overseeing federal relations functions in a cross-cutting set of technology issues.
  • Work collaboratively with CCIA’s DC policy teams to achieve policy goals on behalf of member companies.
  • Manage and coordinate external advocacy and campaign efforts, including coalition building, outreach programs, and legislative initiatives in furtherance of CCIA policy objectives.
  • Liaise regularly with Congressional offices to provide substantive feedback on pressing legislative matters.
  • Monitor draft legislation and regulations projected to impact the technology industry and relay developments to CCIA members.
  • Act as spokesperson for CCIA and promote policymaker awareness of member companies’ legislative policy interests and priorities.
  • Anticipate and address challenges that technology companies may face in an evolving legislative and regulatory policy landscape.


Minimum Qualifications:

Seven to ten years of professional experience in managing the legislative and administrative processes, staffing an elected legislator or appointed official, and coordinating advocacy efforts. Juris Doctor or other graduate degree is preferred.


The ideal candidate will also possess:

  • Demonstrated management experience over teams and policy issues with clear and articulated outcomes.
  • Keen understanding of U.S. legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Progressive experience working on policy issues and advocacy related to antitrust and competition, online safety, digital trade regulation, and emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with internet technologies and the surrounding policy environments and a demonstrated ability to quickly become conversant on complex technical, legal, and regulatory issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal, political, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in multidisciplinary teams and to exercise sound and strategic judgment in a rapidly changing policy environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex competition and regulatory issues into simple explanations.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritize multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously.

CCIA is a collegial, team-based organization that offers a flexible, hybrid work environment with up to two weeks of remote work per calendar year. CCIA compensation is commensurate with experience. This role approximates the federal certified SES payscale, with incentive compensation based on the annual performance of the employee and the Association.
