Senior Developer

Job Summary The Senior Developer will support credit strategy execution by designing and implementing backend decisioning solutions within a modernized technology environment. This role operates at the intersection of business and technology, focusing on translating lending and underwriting strategies into scalable, high-performance systems. The position requires strong expertise in Java, decision engines, and cloud-based modernization initiatives. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with technology, credit risk, and product teams to execute modernization initiatives. Analyze existing decision engine architecture and business workflows to identify improvement opportunities. Design and implement backend decisioning logic for credit strategy platforms. Lead technical discussions and contribute to system enhancements and upgrades. Support migration from legacy systems to modern, cloud-based architectures. Translate business and underwriting rules into technical implementations. Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability. Work within Agile frameworks to deliver incremental improvements. Communicate effectively with stakeholders and business partners. Required Qualifications Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial services, preferably in lending. Strong experience working with decision or rule engines such as FICO, IBM ODM, Experian Strategy Manager, Drools, or similar tools. Strong programming experience in Java. Experience translating business rules into technical solutions. Experience with cloud technologies and modernization initiatives. Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. Strong understanding of SQL and JSON for data handling. Experience working in Agile environments. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with data build tools such as dbt. Experience working with open-source decision engines. Experience in enterprise system modernization projects. Education: Bachelors Degree
