Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preoperative assessments, including reviewing patient history, medications, and allergies.
- Prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery through education and support.
- Obtain vital signs, perform necessary screenings, and document findings.
- Ensure informed consent is obtained and understood by patients.
- Coordinate with surgical, anesthesia, and recovery teams to communicate patient needs and status.
- Assist with preparation of the surgical environment and patient positioning.
- Monitor patients for any changes or complications prior to surgery.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the patient’s medical record.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience in perioperative or surgical nursing preferred.
- Strong assessment and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and safety protocols.
- Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) or related specialty.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to provide patient education and emotional support.
- Valid RN licd RN license.
- BLS and ACLS certification preferred.
