Position Summary:

We are seeking a Quality Control (QC) Technician II to support manufacturing operations by ensuring raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products meet established quality standards and customer specifications. This role is responsible for conducting product testing, collecting production samples, maintaining testing equipment, documenting results, and assisting with quality investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing quality control, product testing, inspection processes, and quality documentation. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect random samples from production batches and lots for quality evaluation.
  • Perform physical and chemical testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
  • Conduct testing including weight measurements, flow characteristics, gloss evaluation, color verification, and other quality-related assessments.
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory and testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Record and maintain accurate quality records, test results, inspection reports, and documentation.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Development teams to investigate and resolve product quality issues.
  • Assist in identifying root causes of defects, complaints, and process-related concerns.
  • Support corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in workplace organization and 5S activities to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.


Additional Responsibilities (Technician II):

  • Evaluate testing methods for consistency, accuracy, and repeatability.
  • Assist with calibration planning and equipment verification activities.
  • Support development and maintenance of training materials and quality procedures.
  • Assist with creation, revision, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in root cause investigations and process improvement projects.


Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing and production environment.
  • Exposure to chemicals and industrial materials.
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the workday.
  • Use of laboratory and quality testing equipment.
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance.


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related scientific field preferred.
  • Experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Laboratory Operations, or Manufacturing Quality preferred.
  • Experience performing inspections, testing, measurements, or product evaluations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, testing procedures, and documentation practices.
  • Ability to operate and maintain testing equipment and measurement instruments.
  • Strong mathematical skills including measurements, fractions, and basic calculations.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Effective communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with laboratory testing or chemical manufacturing processes.
  • Experience performing equipment calibration and verification activities.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
  • Experience supporting SOP development and employee training.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or 5S principles.
  • Experience with quality audits, compliance programs, and manufacturing quality systems.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemical agents.
  • Strong near-vision capability with or without corrective lenses.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and meet color vision testing requirements.
  • Ability to safely operate testing equipment and perform quality inspections.
