Job Summary

The Master Data Manager will lead cross-functional master data planning and coordination to support SAP readiness and enterprise transformation. The role connects product, vendor, location, and related master data requirements across business processes, systems, integrations, and downstream consumers. Working closely with Master Data Management (MDM), Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, Technology, and SAP workstreams, the manager will translate future-state SAP capabilities into actionable data, process, governance, integration, and system requirements. The role will drive design decisions, manage dependencies, support interim and coexistence states, and establish reliable master data solutions that enable business continuity and long-term operational value.

Key Responsibilities

• Connect product, vendor, location, and related master data requirements across business processes, systems, integrations, and downstream consumers.

• Partner with MDM Strategy and Technology teams to prioritize enhancements to Product MDM, Vendor MDM, SAP, and supporting integrations while balancing SAP requirements, enterprise simplification, scalability, and long-term business value.

• Lead cross-functional alignment with SAP workstreams, including Supply Chain, Finance, Merchandising and Sourcing, Architecture, Integration, Reporting, and Organizational Readiness, to identify and translate new master data needs into actionable requirements.

• Work with Product and Vendor MDM teams to define future-state responsibilities across MDM platforms, SAP, and integration layers, including attribute ownership, systems of record, points of entry, enrichment, synchronization, and lifecycle controls.

• Ensure product and vendor master data designs align with business outcomes, process flows, key design decisions, fit-gap assessments, controls, reporting needs, testing criteria, and implementation backlogs.

• Manage end-to-end dependencies across Master Data and adjacent workstreams, identifying gaps, conflicting assumptions, sequencing risks, and downstream impacts.

• Facilitate decisions through appropriate governance forums and drive alignment across stakeholders.

• Support interim and coexistence-state readiness by ensuring vendor and item data, identifiers, mappings, integrations, and operating processes maintain business continuity during the transition to the SAP target state.

• Translate business processes and SAP or ERP design decisions into data requirements, system capabilities, integration requirements, controls, and operational readiness plans.

• Support requirements management, process mapping, data mapping, user acceptance testing, implementation planning, stakeholder alignment, and operating-model transitions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, technology, data management, supply chain, finance, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Six or more years of progressive experience in master data management, enterprise systems, product or vendor data, business transformation, or process design.

• Three or more years of people leadership experience or demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, complex workstreams, and enterprise delivery outcomes.

• Experience translating business processes and SAP or ERP design decisions into data requirements, system capabilities, integrations, controls, and operational readiness plans.

• Strong understanding of master data governance, data quality, systems-of-record principles, attribute ownership, data lifecycle management, and integration dependencies.

• Experience connecting requirements across business domains such as Merchandising, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Reporting, and Technology.

• Experience with requirements management, fit-gap analysis, process mapping, data mapping, user acceptance testing, and implementation planning.

• Excellent executive communication, facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to clarify complex and competing inputs.

• Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic transformation environment.

• Demonstrated change leadership skills, including stakeholder alignment, operating-model transition, adoption planning, and driving accountability through ambiguity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business Partner, product or material master, vendor or supplier master, and purchasing or finance data constructs.

• Experience with enterprise MDM platforms such as Stibo Systems and data integration or distribution platforms.

• Experience supporting large-scale ERP transformation, blueprint, design, migration, coexistence, or deployment programs.

• Knowledge of retail, grocery, merchandising, procurement, replenishment, or finance master data processes.

• Lean/Six Sigma, PROSCI, data governance, product management, or related certification.

• Master's degree.
