We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused IT Field Service Technician II to support a national home improvement retail client. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality technical support and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite technical support for IT equipment including POS systems, desktops, laptops, printers, thin clients, access points, servers, and network switches
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues within defined service levels
- Perform daily ticket documentation, updates, and closures with detailed notes
- Travel within a 50–125 mile radius daily using a company-provided vehicle
- Support cabling tasks including copper and fiber, as well as connector termination
- Make real-time decisions in the field to ensure timely issue resolution
- Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users
- Maintain consistent reporting and time management practices
- Occasionally work at heights (20–25 feet); training provided
- Understand basic AC/DC power and backup power systems
- Minimum 2 year of IT technical support experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Windows, macOS, and/or Linux environments
- Familiarity with networking and hardware support
- CompTIA A certification preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Organized with excellent time management skills
- Ability to adapt and make decisions in a fast-paced field environment
