Job Title: Mainframe Operator
Location: Pontiac, MI 48341 (Onsite Only)
Duration: 6 Months
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Operator to support critical IT operations in a fast-paced environment. This role will function as a Level 1 Incident Manager, responsible for monitoring systems, managing incidents, and ensuring the availability and performance of infrastructure and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Level 1 Incident Manager for critical IT incidents and events
- Create, triage, escalate, and track technology-related incidents
- Monitor infrastructure using graphical monitoring tools and dashboards
- Operate and monitor IBM mainframe control consoles
- Perform routine system performance checks and ensure system stability
- Assist with review and validation of Job Control Language (JCL)
- Collaborate with IT teams, customers, and vendors to resolve issues
- Maintain accurate incident logs and documentation
- Support delivery tasks and handle equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs)
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a mainframe or IT operations environment
- Strong knowledge of IBM Mainframe systems
- Experience in incident management and monitoring tools
- Proficiency with:
- Microsoft Teams
- Monitoring tools such as WhatsUp Gold, Pingdom, and PRTG
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
Work Environment & Requirements:
- Onsite role (no remote/work-from-home option)
- Must be flexible to work holidays, day, afternoon, and midnight shifts
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required
