Job Description
- Serve as a Level 1 Incident Manager for critical IT incidents and events, including rapid creation, escalation, triage, and tracking of customer technology-related issues.
- Communicate effectively with IT staff, customers, and vendors to ensure smooth collaboration during incidents.
- Utilize graphical monitoring systems to track the availability and status of infrastructure connectivity, assets, and services.
- Monitor mainframe control consoles and regularly check system performance to maintain high operational standards.
- Assist with reviewing and validating mainframe job control language as needed.
- Perform assigned deliveries and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work onsite is required; remote work is not available for this position.
- Applicants may be scheduled to work holidays, days, afternoons, and/or midnight shifts.
Requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT operations, NOC/SOC operations, or a similar production support role.
- Experience serving as an Incident Manager (Level 1) or in incident triage/coordination for critical outages and events.
- Hands-on experience using monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., What?s Up Gold, Pingdom, PRTG) to track availability, performance, and connectivity across infrastructure and services.
- Ability to monitor control consoles and perform routine checks of system performance in a high-availability environment (including IBM mainframe operations).
- Working knowledge of mainframe concepts; ability to assist with review/validation of job control language (JCL) is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with IT staff, customers, and vendors during time-sensitive incidents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams (minimum 5 years).
- Ability to work onsite (no work-from-home option for this position).
- Willingness and ability to work holidays and rotating shifts, including days, afternoons, and/or midnight shifts, as scheduled.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Experience
- Experience supporting IBM z/OS environments and enterprise scheduling/batch operations.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).
- Experience working with ticketing/case management systems and documenting incident timelines and post-incident actions.
- Prior experience in a 24x7 operations center supporting multiple technologies and platforms.
