Job Title: Lead Business Systems Analyst (LBSA)
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Business Systems Analyst (LBSA) to support a major technology initiative within an enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) environment. This role will primarily focus on enhancing and expanding a Learning Management System (LMS) within a Human Resources function.
The LBSA will play a key role in driving business analysis efforts across high-visibility, complex projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activities including requirements gathering, process mapping, and business case development
- Serve as a Scrum Master and support Agile project teams
- Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams
- Analyze business processes, workflows, and system integrations to identify improvement opportunities
- Conduct gap analysis and develop actionable recommendations
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and training initiatives
- Create high-quality documentation and business deliverables for executive-level review
- Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a Lead Business Systems Analyst
- 3 years of hands-on experience with Cornerstone OnDemand (administration, reporting, configuration, dashboards, and security roles)
- 3 years of experience working in Agile environments
- Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
- Experience with:
- Business and technical process mapping
- Requirements documentation
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Training support
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced proficiency in:
- MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Microsoft Project / Planner
- Visio, OneNote
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in large, complex, or highly regulated environments
- Certification such as CBAP (IIBA) or equivalent
- Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, Agile/Scrum, or ITIL frameworks
- Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools
- Strong ability to:
- Analyze and reconcile data from multiple sources
- Break down complex information into actionable insights
- Identify true business needs beyond stated requirements
