What are the responsibilities and job description for the MEDICAL OFFICE SPECIALIST position at COMPREHENSIVE PAIN MANAGEMENT?
Job Summary: Maintains procedure schedules. prior auth for procedures, outpatient referrals for imaging, physical therapy, along with other duties assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Scheduling procedures.
Verify accuracy and completeness of procedure request and data.
Work with appropriate departments on denied or pending explanations of benefits
Verify benefits and pre-authorizations from various sources.
Speak with Patients regarding schedule, benefits, out of pocket expenses, etc.
Outgoing referrals for MRI, CT etc.
New patient referral/scheduling
Minimum Experience, Education, and Licensure:
High School Diploma or GED
Some experience as a scheduler, preferably in a medical or physician office
Some experience with benefit verification
Some experience with worker compensation processes
