Direct Support Professional working with youth experiencing mental health and behavioral challenges. As a DSP, you get to participate in your client's daily life and activities. Some of these activities include: going to the movies, art & crafts, shopping, playing games, and spending time outdoors! Direct Support Professional is looking for individuals looking to create meaningful change in the lives of our youth. Duties & Responsibilities
A DSP is required to support individuals served based on their abilities and assessed needs. DSP are expected to support all individuals in a respectful, understanding, and person centered manner. DSP may support individuals served with the following:
- ADLs (bathing, toileting, cooking, cleaning, etc.)
- Transportation to/from school, appointments, and activities
- Crisis Intervention
- Medication Administration
- Educational Support (Homework etc.)
- Cooking & Cleaning (includes laundry)
Requirements
Experience:
- 1 year of DSP or CNA Experience (Required)
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (Preferred)
- Experience working with children and/or teenagers (Preferred)
- Ability to pass a background check (Required)
- Passion for supporting individuals in a person centered manner (Required)
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED (Required)
Licensure:
- Valid Drivers License (Required)
