Amani Care Services in Mankato, MN is looking for a passionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join their caring team. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
- Transport and accompany clients to medical appointments, community activities, and social outings
- Administer medications and follow health care protocols as directed
- Foster independence, dignity, and community inclusion for all individuals served
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must have legal authorization to work in the United States (valid work permit or employment authorization required)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver's license is required
- Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check as required by Minnesota DHS
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient, and person-centered approach
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, or overnight as needed
