What are we looking for in a Data Analyst?
Data Analyst collects, organizes, interprets, and transforms data into meaningful insights that support decision-making within the agency business and information needs.
Data Analyst duties may include:
- Works closely with management to analyze business and information needs. Designs, develops and oversees production
- and timely distribution of accurate data sets for large projects and ad hoc report requests.
- Integrates data from internal and external sources. Performs extract, transform, and load operations to data in various
- applications areas.
- Assists in design and implementation of database warehouse structure.
- Develops and maintains standards, such as organization, structure, or nomenclature, for the design of data elements.
- Assists with ongoing data architecture processes and governance.
- Aids with implementation, testing, and validating data and software systems.
- Performs data audits to identify problem areas and implements strategies to optimize data integrity. Identifies,
- analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets. Locates and defines new process improvement
- opportunities.
- Creates and maintains supporting documentation.
- Provides Tier II technical support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Two years of relevant experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mid-level SQL skills and Power BI, creating dashboards, reports and visualization to support business decisions.
