Description: This is an opportunity to provide leadership to a department that is essential to the operation of The Center in maintaining medical records for clients and in billing insurers for services provided.

- Ability to produce written documents with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence structure, punctuation, and grammar.
- Ability to work under pressure (i.e., handling significant problems and tasks which come up simultaneously and/or unexpectedly and with approaching deadlines)
- Ability to operate office equipment (calculator, copier, fax machine, PC, telephone and typewriter)

- Ability to learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation to effectively perform job duties. This learning takes place mainly in an on-the-job training setting.

Key Duties:
- Performs a variety of well-defined repetitive clerical duties such as typing letters and forms, maintaining files and data entry
- Assembles and posts data; maintain department files and keep detailed and accurate records
- Operation of office equipment (copy machine, fax, telephone, etc.)
- Collects and enter data and information into a terminal, PC or other keyboard device
- Answers telephone and direct call and individuals to the appropriate area of personnel
- Keeps supervisor informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of objectives
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
Reports to:
Directly reports to the Supervisor, Medical Records and Billing
Requirements:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of related job experience.
- Associates degree in Health Information Management or certificate/diploma in a related training program preferred.
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
