Role and Responsibilities
Member of the multidisciplinary Crisis Team who has experience as a recipient of behavioral health services.
Will share personal, practical experience and firsthand knowledge and insight for the benefit of the client and the treatment team.
Serve as mentor to clients to promote hope and empowerment in treatment.
Participate in daily team staffing and treatment plan review meetings.
Assist with follow up of clients served by Crisis team.
Attend staff meetings, in-service trainings and workshops as required.
Complete all documentation in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with medical records guidelines.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Two years of volunteer or work experience with adults with behavioral health challenges.
Capable of visiting consumers in their homes or the community, which may not be handicapped accessible.
Must have knowledge and ability to manage their own mental illness and must be well established in their individual recovery.
Special Requirements
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must obtain Peer Support Specialist Certification.
