Accounts Payable Payroll Clerk

Role and Responsibilities

• Process all incoming invoices and match them with receipts, purchase orders, bank reconciliation functions, etc.
• Processes requests for check writing
• Processes monthly reports for CFO (ex. voided checks, accrued payables, prepaid expenses, depreciation, Fixed assets, checks for general ledgers, KERS)
• Responsible for accounts payable for the organization and affiliates.
• Complies financial reports as directed.
• Assists in the collection and the preparation of audit data, budgeting, and related data entry into the accounting software.
• Preaudits accounting documents for accuracy and completeness
• Processes purchase order requests assigning applicable program and accounting codes.
• Prepares semi-weekly payroll for review by CFO and coordinates with HR to ensure employee data for payroll is accurate and current.
• Billing department task as needed.
• Other general duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Minimum associate degree in accounting or related field, bachelors preferred.
• Minimum one year of accounting-related experience preferred.
• Extensive work experience may substitute for a degree.
• Must be able to be bonded.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening and drug screen.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for periods of time, ability to stoop, squat, etc. for filing.

Special Requirements

• Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel.
• Strong analytical skills are needed to post figures to ledgers documents, reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve miscalculations.
• Knowledge of office machines, data processing, telephone skills, and flexibility with respect to the job duties and schedules.
• Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
