Position Summary

  • The Regional Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will help review the status of current clinical programs at client locations, contribute to performance improvement activities, and support the implementation of CompleteRx clinical and pharmaco-economic initiatives in collaboration with the Regional Clinical Manager and Directors of Pharmacy.
  • Assist in developing and delivering training and education materials to help pharmacists and technicians maintain relevant clinical competencies and provide clinical pharmacy services.
  • Assist with preparing documents and support presentations of formulary initiatives to hospital clinical committees (e.g., Pharmacy & Therapeutics).
  • May have the opportunity to serve as an interim clinical manager at a client pharmacy location until a permanent clinical manager is hired and trained.
  • May need to obtain additional state pharmacist licenses as needed upon request.

What You Will Do

  • Support hospitals or clinics in using medications, systems, or products correctly.
  • Develop drug monographs, therapeutic interchanges, guideline updates, class reviews, drug shortage memos, medication use evaluations, policy, protocol, order sets and literature summaries.
  • Help train staff on new workflows, tools, or therapies.
  • Assist with gathering, organizing and reviewing data, and preparing reports on findings.
  • Review patient cases or medication use and suggest improvements when needed.
  • Make sure processes are safe, efficient, and follow best practices.
  • Help troubleshoot issues that come up in daily clinical operations.
  • Provide education sessions (in person or virtual) to clinical teams and technicians.
  • Assist with implementing new programs or services.
  • Document activities, track progress, and share updates with leadership.
  • Serve as a clinical drug information resource for your assigned sites.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree required.
  • Current license to practice pharmacy in the state of practice.
  • PGY1 residency preferred
  • PGY2 residency with Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience and knowledge related to clinical pharmacy program in a hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of products, with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Excel.
  • Ability to travel part time via plane, automobile, or other means with occasional overnight (up to 30-50%) and occasional weekend travel.
