Curriculum Assistant
Part-Time

$20.00 hourly rate
General Summary :
If you are detail oriented, love organizing things and creating unique hands-on curriculum for elementary and middle school students, this position may be a good fit for you! The Curriculum Coordinator will assist in overseeing the editing of lesson plans, writing new lessons, and organization of curriculum supplies. This includes accurately filling requests for supplies, ordering materials, maintaining organization of curriculum room.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsibility

Materials Management and Curriculum Support
- Ensure the organization of curriculum room
- Prepare Club materials for each 8-week session.
- Order materials following proper processes (purchase orders, credit card check in/out) as requested
- Submit order requests for needed supplies as required
- Pack and quality check club bins to ensure all supplies are packed as requested.
- Format lesson plans to agency standards ensuring they are organized, and easily readable.
- Make copies of lesson plans and materials as requested.
Curriculum Writing:
- Edit lesson plans to align with template format
- Work with Program Support Staff and Coordinators to improve lessons identified as problematic through Post Club Reviews.
- Get feedback from team to revise (peer edit), pilot lessons at program if possible.
- Save lessons and overviews on Sharepoint and get comments/feedback from Professional Development and Curriculum Manager to make final changes.

Work Experience:
- Experience in curriculum writing and organization is required
- Volunteer or paid experience working with at-risk, school age children is preferred.
- Volunteer or teaching experience in an educational setting with lesson plans is preferred
Education Level:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Preference given to candidates with a teaching certification

Working Conditions:
Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed is required. Position requires the ability to stand and walk the majority of the time and to stand and lift supplies onto shelves.
