Property Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to join a growing property management team in Nassau County.

This role is paying $80K and is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate must have strong Yardi experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced real estate environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the general ledger for assigned properties
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packages
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
• Record journal entries and ensure accurate posting of transactions
• Review accounts payable and receivable activity for assigned properties
• Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
• Support year-end closing and audit preparation
• Reconcile sub-ledgers to the trial balance and resolve discrepancies
• Monitor property cash balances and assist with cash management
• Collaborate with property management teams on financial reporting and operational questions
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within property management or real estate
• Yardi software experience is required
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
