Ready to launch or grow your NP career in a specialized surgical setting? An established outpatient practice in the New York, NY area is hiring a Nurse Practitioner to provide pre- and post-operative care for thoracic surgery patients alongside a multidisciplinary surgical team!

Schedule

• Full-time, 35 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm
• Fully onsite (this is not a remote or hybrid role)

Compensation

• $135,000-$140,000 annually, based on experience

What You’ll Do
Coordinate the outpatient medical and surgical management of thoracic surgery patients:

• Perform comprehensive history and physical exams and assist surgeons in clinic
• Develop differential diagnoses, implement plans of care, and document patient response
• Conduct pre-operative H&Ps and obtain surgical consents
• Collect, order, and interpret labs and diagnostic studies under agreed protocols
• Order medications and obtain prior authorizations
• Develop practice protocols, standards of care, and patient education materials
• Support patients participating in research studies as needed
• Help develop and manage clinical databases to improve patient outcomes

What You Bring

• Active New York State NP license
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience
• Thoracic- or surgery-related background a plus (pulmonary, cardiothoracic, cardiac, vascular, general surgery, critical care/ICU, or gastro)
• Ability to perform comprehensive H&Ps and manage a patient caseload
• Comfort working within collaborative protocols alongside physicians and care teams
