Controller

The Controller will oversee all financial operations of the company, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role ensures financial accuracy, supports strategic decision-making, and maintains fiscal discipline across the organization. The Controller will partner closely with executive leadership to provide financial insight and recommendations that align with the company’s growth and profitability goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:?

• Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Prepare, analyze, and present accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow management to ensure financial stability and support business growth.
• Manage consolidation of wholesale, retail (Shopify), and e-commerce divisions.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations and financial reporting requirements.
• Partner with the CEO and COO to provide financial insights that drive operational decisions and support company strategy.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax professionals, banks, and other financial partners.
• Oversee coordination with TaxValet or outside tax advisors for state sales tax filings and compliance.
• Supervise accounting team members or external bookkeeping support.
• Oversee and improve internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial systems to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
• Support inventory valuation and cost accounting processes to ensure accurate tracking of production costs and product margins.
• Lead and mentor accounting and finance team members, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and collaboration.
• Assist in the implementation and optimization of ERP and financial management systems.
• Optimize and maintain integration between ERP (RLM), WMS (Deposco,Autostore), and ecommerce platforms (Shopify, NuOrder)
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR THE ROLE:?

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
• 7 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, preferably in apparel, manufacturing, or consumer goods.
• Proven experience managing budgets, forecasting, and financial analysis in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of inventory accounting and cost control in a product-based business.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Hands-on, detail oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, owner-led environment.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (RLM experience a plus).
