What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Complete Filtration Resources, Inc.?
Job Title: Accountant
Report to: Controller
Job Summary
Complete Filtration Resources is a filtration equipment and wastewater treatment company operating across two entities (U.S. and Denmark). We are seeking an Accountant to serve as the direct report to the Controller — a hands-on accounting leader who owns the mechanics of the monthly close, financial statement preparation, and compliance. This is a growth-oriented role: as the company works through platform integration, ERP transition, and other post-acquisition workstreams, this person should expect to increasingly run day-to-day controllership — independently owning the close and combined financial statements. Someone who performs well here should see a credible path toward a Controller-level role as the platform scales.
Job Responsibilities
Compliance
· Own the recurring compliance calendar across both entities — audit, tax, and other statutory requirements — so nothing gets missed as reporting needs evolve.
· Maintain accurate, GAAP-compliant revenue recognition on project-based work, including the schedules and calculations that support it.
· Support external audit, tax preparation, and any PE sponsor diligence requests with organized, audit-ready documentation.
· Maintain internal controls appropriate for a PE-owned, sponsor-reviewed company.
· Partner with the Controller on compliance items tied to project execution, such as financing instruments and guarantees required for certain contracts.
· Keep Denmark-entity compliance current and coordinated with the Controller.
Financial Statement Preparation
· Prepare monthly combined (U.S. Denmark) financial statements — income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
· Own the month-end close process: journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and intercompany eliminations.
· Prepare variance analysis (budget vs. actual) with clear explanations behind material swings.
· Maintain the supporting schedules and analyses that feed the monthly financial package.
· Ensure consistent, accurate use of source data across entities and flag discrepancies before they reach final statements.
· Prepare first-draft summaries of bookings, backlog, and pipeline to feed executive and PE reporting.
Monthly Cycle & General Support
· Manage the recurring monthly cycle of data pulls and workbook updates across reporting and forecasting files for both entities.
· Assist in building executive and PE-facing materials — monthly financial review decks, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses — with an eye toward clean, simple output.
· Partner with operational stakeholders to keep source data current and reliable.
· Take on ad hoc requests from the Controller and executive team as they arise — this role should expect variety and be comfortable prioritizing on the fly.
· Bring a working understanding of clear, fact-anchored financial storytelling so materials this role touches are consistent with how the company communicates results.

Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
· 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including time in public accounting and industry.
· Experience with multi-entity or multi-currency consolidations preferred; international experience a plus.
· Experience with project-based or percentage-of-completion revenue recognition a plus.
· Prior experience in a PE-owned or PE-transitioning company a plus.
· Strong Excel skills and comfort working across ERP systems.
· High attention to detail, sound judgment, and a bias toward asking questions rather than assuming when data is incomplete.
· Strong written communication skills; able to translate financial detail into a clear narrative.
· Comfortable operating with increasing autonomy over time and growing into greater ownership of the close.
