What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Office Biller position at Complete Dental Care?
Complete Dental Care
Complete Dental Care is looking for an experienced Dental Biller to manage claims across our four Brooklyn locations. This is a mixed-payer practice — Medicaid, PPO, and fee-for-service — so we need someone who already knows the ins and outs of billing across all three, not someone who'll need to learn payer rules on the job.
About the Role
This is an onsite role based at one of our four Brooklyn locations — it is not remote. You'll own claims submission and follow-up across the practice, making sure every claim goes out clean the first time with the correct attachments for that payer and claim type, and that nothing falls through the cracks on pre-approvals, EOB posting, or adjustments.
What You'll Do
- Submit dental claims for Medicaid, PPO, and FFS patients, including identifying and attaching the correct required documentation for each claim type (x-rays, narratives, periodontal charting, etc.)
- Submit pre-treatment authorizations and follow up proactively until they're resolved
- Post EOBs accurately and in a timely manner
- Create correct adjustments and write-offs in line with payer contracts and practice policy
- Track aging claims and denials, and resubmit or appeal as needed
- Reconcile insurance payments against expected reimbursement
- Coordinate with front desk staff and office managers across all four locations on billing status and outstanding issues
- Stay current on Medicaid, PPO, and FFS billing requirements, which can differ significantly by payer
What We're Looking For
- Significant, hands-on experience with dental billing across Medicaid, PPO, and FFS claims
- Strong working knowledge of claim attachment requirements by payer and claim type
- Experience submitting and following up on pre-authorizations
- Experience posting EOBs and processing adjustments accurately
- Comfort supporting billing across multiple practice locations
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through — this role lives or dies on catching the small things
- Dentrix Ascend knowledge preferred, not required
Schedule
We are looking for 9am-530pm Monday-Thursday weekly with onsite support at any one of our 4 locations.
