Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Plumbing Estimator / Business Developer to support our team while helping to grow our customer base. This is a hybrid role combining technical estimating work with proactive business development. The ideal candidate will be comfortable reading plans, preparing plumbing takeoffs, and reaching out to new and existing clients to pursue bid opportunities.
Responsibilities
Estimating Duties:
- Review bid invitations, drawings, and specifications
- Perform accurate material and fixture takeoffs
- Request and review vendor/supplier pricing
- Prepare competitive proposals and scopes of work
- Participate in job walks and pre-bid meetings as needed
- Work closely with project management on awarded jobs
Business Development Duties:
- Research and pursue new bid opportunities in Maryland
- Maintain relationships with current GCs and clients
- Track and follow up on upcoming projects and ITBs
- Represent the company professionally in meetings and calls
- Assist with preconstruction coordination and sales follow-ups
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in plumbing estimating (commercial preferred)
- Knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and code requirements
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficient in reading construction drawings and specs
- Experience with estimating software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, etc.)
- Must have a valid driver's license
