High-Impact Responsibilities

• Strategic Program Architecture: Design and execute a sophisticated, multi-dimensional therapeutic curriculum that addresses the complex physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs of a diverse resident population.
• Clinical Assessment & Care Planning: Lead the department in conducting high-level clinical assessments to determine resident backgrounds and cognitive abilities, integrating these findings into comprehensive, "survey-ready" care plans.
• Departmental Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and inspire your team of Activity Assistants. You are responsible for staff development, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of high performance.
• Fiscal Management: Command the departmental budget with precision, ensuring the strategic procurement of resources that maximize resident engagement and facility reputation.
• Community Synergy: Forge powerful partnerships with local organizations, volunteers, and guest performers to ensure our residents remain vibrantly connected to the broader community.
• Regulatory Mastery: Maintain meticulous documentation, participation analytics, and compliance reports in strict accordance with state and federal oversight standards.
  
  

Qualifications For Success

• Leadership Experience: Proven track record in staff management and departmental oversight is strongly preferred.
• Clinical Context: Deep expertise in Long-Term Care/Skilled Nursing regulations and the unique rhythm of geriatric recreations is required.
• Technical Proficiency: Mastery of digital documentation systems and scheduling software.

Mandatory Licensure & Certification

Must hold at least one of the following:

• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
• Activities Director Certified (ADC)
• Certified Recreational Activity Specialist (CRA)
• Or a comparable state-recognized certification for Activities Direction in a Skilled Nursing setting.
