Responsibilities:

• Daily Documentation: Accurately record a patient’s medical history and daily observations.
• Physician Order Management: Transcribe physicians’ orders to MAR’s and notify pharmacy of new orders.
• Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician, including injections, prescribed medications, enemas, etc.
• Vital Sign Monitoring: Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.
• Patient Observation & Monitoring: Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications, and monitor patients’ condition including fluid intake and output.
• Charting: Accurately compose and maintain patient charts.
• Assistance with Daily Activities: Assist ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing, etc.
• Basic Medical Care: Clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
• Sample Collection: Collect samples for lab testing as assigned.
• Emotional Support: Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
• Family Communication: Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort, and release instructions.
• Other Duties as Assigned: Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License within the state of Illinois (required).
• Compassionate and patient, with the ability to remain calm in a demanding environment.
• Experienced in providing diverse basic care to those who need it.
