Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Home Health Aide to deliver exceptional in-home care to our clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient well-being, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have experience working with diverse populations, including geriatric patients and individuals with disabilities. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve by providing essential personal care and health support within their homes.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
- Monitor and observe patient health status, documenting vital signs and changes accurately in electronic health record (EHR) or electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Administer medications and perform catheter care following medical instructions and home healthcare regulations.
- Support patients with memory care needs such as Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, ensuring a safe environment.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to promote overall well-being.
- Utilize patient transfer methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts to ensure safe mobility assistance.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while communicating effectively with clients and healthcare teams.
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, geriatrics, or in hospice care settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) or CPR certification.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate patient transfer devices such as Hoyer lifts.
- Excellent caregiving skills with a focus on patient personal care assistance and client communication.
- Knowledge of home health care assistance standards, including end-of-life care and dementia-specific strategies.
- Experience working within home health agency protocols and understanding of home health regulations.
Pay & Benefits
- $18.00 per visit
- Mileage reimbursement
- Full benefit package available when aide reaches full-time status including health and dental insurance, vision insurance, paid time off, and life insurance.
