Position Overview
CBH is seeking an Admissions Coordinator who will be responsible for working directly with prospective patients and families on inquiry/intake calls and coordinating patient screenings and admissions. He/she provides pertinent information to utilization reviewers.
Responsibilities
- Answers inquiry calls efficiently and courteously
- Addresses any questions callers may have relating to the facility and the admissions process
- Coordinates and schedules prospective patient screenings
- Coordinates and processes all admissions to the facility
- Obtains demographic and financial information during inquiry calls
- Forwards financial coverage information to the billing unit, verifying insurance information as necessary
- Maintains the Inquiry Call Disposition Log and follows up accordingly
- Ensures the clinical and financial screening criteria have been met prior to admission
- Recognizes and assists in crisis situations and provides interventions based on training and experience
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the mental health/behavioral health field a plus
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must pass drug screen and background screening for employment
- Ability to type 65 WPM required
- Competent computer skills
- Knowledge of KIPU a plus
Schedule Requirements:
The position follows a consistent weekly schedule of 10AM-6PM, Wednesday through Friday, and 11AM-7PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
