What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director Of Organizational Advancement position at COMPASS Youth Collaborative?
The Director of Organizational Advancement leads fundraising efforts, including grants, contracts, corporate and foundation support, and individual giving. This role builds key relationships to secure funding and oversees all fundraising activities to support organizational programming. The Director also manages and subcontract for communications and marketing design. The Director in collaboration with the CEO also implements strategies to strengthen the organization’s image and presence in the community and among funders. The organization has an innovative and dynamic technology environment that requires creative, adaptive leaders to take advantage of the many tools available. Additionally, the role is responsible for executing the digital marketing plan within a redesigned marketing technology stack.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Corporate Relations
· Develop relations with corporations and foundations, create awareness of COMPASS.
· Manage vendor relationships with marketing consultants.
Donor Development and Stewardship
· Identify and research community members with the capacity and willingness to donate to COMPASS Youth Collaborative.
· Cultivating donors to raise $75k to $150k/year through individual and corporate giving
Grant Coordination
· Manage vendor relationships, grant writer, and marketing consultants
· Grant coordination with agency consultant, keeping track of all grants, and keeping track of all checks
· Create grant calendar
· Thoroughly vet new grant opportunities
· Research and evaluate new funding opportunities
Community Relations
· Identify and develop relationships with community stakeholders.
· Develop relationships with community organizations and institutions whose work aligns with COMPASS Youth Collaborative and potential for in kind services.
· Facilitate internal and external communications
COMPASS Branding
· Ensure the articulation of COMPASS’ desired image, position, and branding. Ensure consistent communication of image and position throughout the organization, and of image, position, and branding to all constituencies.
· Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic materials, including newsletters, brochures, annual reports, website, and social media.
· Collaborate with staff to develop more efficient ways to market programs and the benefits of the organization to membership and the community.
· Coordinate media interest in COMPASS and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests.
· In conjunction with the CEO, develop short and long-term plans and budgets for the communications program and its activities. Assure adherence, monitor progress, and evaluate performance. Assist with government community relations.
· Work with Senior Staff and other Staff to develop and maintain a strategic perspective in organizational direction, programs, and decision making.
· Prep staff and youth for all public appearances and media relations
Fundraising
· Event scheduling, planning, and fundraising
· Identifying funding opportunities to support $3 million/year in grant revenue: : Corporate, Foundations, and Individuals
· Manage vendor relationships with grant writer, marketing consultants, and accountants
· Cultivating donors to raise $75k to $150k/year through individual and corporate giving
· Creating and managing digital content across multiple platforms
Qualifications (Including education, training, and experience):
· Bachelor’s Degree- Journalism, English, Communication, Public Relations or related experience 5 years or Master’s Degree with 3 years experience
· Experience in the non-profit sector preferred
· Superior writing, oral, and organizational skills
· Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in the design and execution of sales, marketing, communications, social media and public relations activities
· Ability to take communication initiatives from concept to finish
· Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams, including staff, board members, volunteers, funders, and program participants
· Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
· Experience managing related budgets
· Demonstrate proficiency with Donor Database management; Bloomerang CRM/Fundraising preferred
· Familiarity with digital marketing tools like Constant Contact or Mailchimp, WordPress, and social media management
Salary : $75,000 - $150,000
