A Global OEM Manufacturer is looking for a Buyer to join their team.: 

Position Summary:

·         Source and evaluation suppliers capable of low-volume, quick-turn prototype production.

·         Request and compare quotes, lead times, and capabilities from multiple vendors.

·         Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms with suppliers.

·         Issue purchase orders and track order status to ensure on-time delivery.

·         Coordinate closely with engineering and production teams on design changes and urgent needs.

·         Expedite critical or delayed orders to keep prototype build on schedule.

·         Monitor supplier performance, quality, and responsiveness.

·         Resolve issues with defective or non-conforming parts, including returns or reorders.

·         Maintain accurate purchasing records, documentation, and supplier data.

·         Identify cost-saving opportunities while balancing speed and quality requirements.

·         Review engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications to understand prototype part requirements.

Qualifications:

·         Candidate will have specialized experience in purchasing and/or contracts.

·         Experience with CAD drawings including knowledge of Automotive and Proto-Type parts required.

·         Expert PC Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other technical software) and excellent communication/interpersonal skills required.

·         Ability to travel and work overtime may be required. SAP Experience required.

·         Requires a BS degree in Business Administration or related degree and a minimum of 15 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
