Sales Representative -- Flooring and Tile

Full-time | $48,000 annual base salary plus performance bonuses
Potential total earnings of approximately $80,000 annually, depending on sales performance.

Compass Studio Tile & Flooring is hiring a salesperson to develop new business with interior designers, contractors, and other local customers. Your primary responsibility is to build relationships, bring customers into our showroom, and turn those relationships into material and installation sales.

This position combines outside sales with showroom work. You’ll work directly with the owner and manager, with support from our showroom and installation teams.

What you’ll do

• Find and develop new customers, with a focus on designers and contractors.
• Visit potential customers, introduce our products and services, and arrange showroom visits.
• Help customers select materials and move projects from initial conversation through estimates, orders, and completion.
• Maintain consistent follow-up and accurate records of leads, customer commitments, and project details.
• Coordinate with our showroom and installation teams to keep customers informed and projects moving.
• Learn and follow our established systems, and contribute practical ideas for improvement.

What we’re looking for

• At least one year of professional flooring or tile experience, including familiarity with measuring, estimating, and installation.
• Comfort introducing yourself, developing relationships, and asking for business.
• Strong organization, dependable communication, and consistent follow-through.
• Someone who uses systems to manage their work and prevent missed details.
• A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally, generally within an hour of Annapolis.

Pay and benefits

• $48,000 annual base salary plus performance bonuses.
• Potential total earnings of approximately $80,000 annually; bonus earnings depend on sales results and are not guaranteed.
• Bonuses are based on new business you generate. Existing showroom walk-ins are not assigned as your sales leads.
• Sales bonuses are paid after the applicable job is paid in full.
• Non-matching 401(k) available.
• Flexible time off coordinated with management and work responsibilities.
• Health insurance is not provided.

Work location

This is a local, in-person position involving customer visits and work in our Annapolis showroom. Time spent in the showroom and on the road will vary substantially according to business needs; there is no fixed split.
