As a Lead Corporate Event Manager at Compass Rose Events, you serve as the primary on‑site leader, responsible for the overall execution, safety, staffing, catering, entertainment, logistics, client relations, and guest experience of large‑scale corporate family‑day events nationwide. This role provides advanced leadership experience in operations, logistics, staff management, vendor relations, and customer service — ideal for experienced leaders or seasoned event professionals ready to oversee complex operations and corporate event execution.
Position Summary
The Lead Corporate Event Manager oversees all operational aspects of Compass Rose Events, serving as the on‑site decision‑maker from setup through teardown. You will direct event staff and Event Managers, manage logistics and safety compliance, coordinate vendors and venue partners, and ensure all event standards and client expectations are met. This is a high‑responsibility leadership role requiring strong judgment, operational expertise, and team management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Pre‑Event Preparation
- Coordinate readiness with Operations and Sales teams.
- Review all event contracts, layouts, schedules, and operational plans. Confirm all event details and vendors.
- Identify operational risks or discrepancies and address them proactively.
- Assist in resolving pre‑event staffing, inventory, transportation, or logistical challenges.
- Communicate travel arrangements and departure timing with the event team.
- Drive delivery vehicles from CRE’s Delivery Center in LaVergne, TN to event sites using a 26’ box truck, following DOT regulations. (Training provided.)
- Manage cash advances and event and travel‑related spending. Execute vendor payments.
Event Setup & Site Management
- Direct unloading, staging, and assembling event infrastructure according to site layout and contract.
- Ensure equipment and catering and entertainment areas are installed, tested, and functional.
- Lead event managers and staff in safe, efficient setup. Monitor safety compliance and site organization.
- Ensure brand standards and event quality benchmarks are met.
- Delegate responsibilities clearly and hold team members accountable.
Event Run & Guest Experience
- Serve as the on‑site authority for safety, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Oversee training, assigning, and supervising event staff and volunteers.
- Manage event flow, timelines, operational priorities, and guest flow.
- Coordinate with client, vendors, venue partners, and service providers.
- Direct catering, entertainment, logistics, and engagement teams.
- Troubleshoot and solve operational challenges quickly and professionally.
- Adjust staffing, layouts, or timelines in real time to ensure event success.
- Maintain responsibility for full, safe event execution and client and guest satisfaction.
Breakdown & Post‑Event Duties
- Direct safe, organized breakdown and load‑out across all departments.
- Ensure site restoration meets venue and company expectations.
- Complete inventories, post event documentation, and incident reports.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Lead Event Manager oversees all event operations and team members, providing training, delegation, performance oversight, and real‑time direction while maintaining a safe, positive, and professional environment for Event Managers and event staff throughout all event phases. Addresses issues in alignment with company policy.
Travel Requirements and Work Environment
- Multi‑day trips requiring onsite presence and significant travel.
- Early mornings, long days, and weekend work are common.
- Fast‑paced, high‑energy event settings.
- Primarily outdoor environments with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Employee housing is available.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Active participation in event setup, breakdown, and equipment movement.
- Ability to drive 26‑ft box trucks. (Training provided)
Requirements, Preferred Education & Experience
- Strong leadership and team management, clear communication and conflict resolution
- Advanced planning, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Customer service and client interaction
- Experience in event management, hospitality, or large‑scale operations preferred
- Valid driver’s license; ability to operate company vehicles.
- Must be 21 years old.
- Compass Rose Events conducts motor vehicle and criminal background checks as part of the pre‑employment process.
- Compass Rose Events conducts drug and alcohol testing as part of pre‑employment screening and performs random testing throughout employment.
