What are the responsibilities and job description for the Title Assistant position at Compass International Holdings?
Summary: This is an advanced Title Assistant (TA) position. The individual in this job will already be proficient in many TA positions within the department. The TA will have primary responsibility for title plant maintenance including receiving, posting and proofing document images received from multiple counties. In addition, this position may provide direct support for one or more title officers. This includes conducting research, preparing recordings, and handling various tasks as assigned by the title officer(s) and Team Leader.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
The individual in this position must possess good organizational skills.
Type 65 or more words per minute with a high degree of accuracy.
Utilize 10-key by-touch.
Communicate well with internal and external customers.
Review documents/recordings received from the county courthouse. Organize and transfer the documents to vendors.
Post and proof batches of documents.
Maintain “arb” mapping system.
Conduct land/name searches in the Company’s title plant.
Utilize the Company’s title production software.
Produce and maintain low-risk title insurance products, including but not limited to, various reports and guarantees, and junior loan policies.
Directly communicates with the escrow/ and title officers regarding recording process.
Prepare policy write-ups prior to issuing policies and handle post policy requests.
Conduct file updates and oversees the delivery thereof.
Handles requests, including but not limited to customer service calls, as assigned by the title officers or department Team Leader.
Other duties may be assigned by Team Leader.
Qualifications/Experience:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Proficient use of Ultima, Canaan, Word processing, Spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Order processing, windows, micro-film real machines and fax machines.
