Waitstaff/Bartender

Duties

• Greeting and seating customers
• Taking food and beverage orders and accurately entering them into the ordering system
• Making menu item recommendations
• Communicating any food allergy or special nutrition needs to kitchen staff
• Ensuring all orders are filled quickly and accurately and that food is high quality
• Providing attentive service to diners, like refilling drinks as needed and checking their needs during meals
• Promptly addressing any customer service issues and referring to management if and when necessary
• Performing some cleaning duties, such as at the service station, around the kitchen and in the dining area
• Proven experience in food service or hospitality industry roles, especially in fine dining or bar management settings
• Prepare and serve a variety of beverages including cocktails, wine, craft beers, and non-alcoholic options with precision and flair
• Engage with guests in a friendly, energetic manner to enhance their overall experience
• Manage cash transactions accurately using POS systems, ensuring proper processing of payments
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in compliance with food safety standards and sanitation protocols
• Develop new beverage recipes and contribute to menu updates based on current trends and guest preferences
• Restock bar supplies efficiently while monitoring inventory levels to prevent shortages
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to coordinate food service during busy hours or special events such as banquets or catering functions
• Uphold responsible alcohol service practices by verifying guest age, monitoring consumption, and preventing over-serving

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of mixology, spirits, wine varieties, craft beer brewing processes, and beverage recipe development
• Familiarity with POS systems for processing transactions smoothly
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours
• Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for diverse guests
• Food safety certification and knowledge of proper food handling procedures required
• Previous banquet or catering experience is a plus, along with retail math skills for inventory control and cash handling proficiency
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and special event days
